The baby will have visits at 2 weeks, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 24 months and then yearly. They will take measurement (height, weight, head circumfrence), do a physical exam (ears, mouth, nose, belly, genitals, heart, lungs) and then they should discuss any appropriate milestones and behaviors, feeding topics and ask if you have any questions and answer them appropriatly. If you have specific questions, bring a list with you so you don't forget to ask anything, this also helps the doctor to answer your questions quickly. The baby will also receive vaccinations as scheduled by the CDC. (I don't know why, but hey, I'm fine with that!) But as I understand it, everyone goes every two months. Your first and only visit will be 6 weeks later. They'll do an internal and check to make sure you're healing fine. Other than that, it's basically a regular checkup. My doctor sees my son every month. The baby goes to a pediatrician. Every baby is different though - You have to go 2-3 days after being released. Then usually you go back at the 2 week mark for the baby. A little tip for you: If you go to your local Health Department you can get the baby's shots for free instead of getting them at the pediatrician's office. Those shots are expensive at the doctors and you will end up paying for them after your maximum benefit is met (dependant upon your insurance of course). well she just summed it up for you.
