My oldest was just great on regular formula but my youngest needed soy. Both my kids were formula fed - after 9 months of torture, I wasn't ready for more...I wanted my body back. Once you found your perfect formula, then stock up. No, you shouldn’t. I breastfeed but I had to supplement for the first week because he lost way too much weight and the formula the hospital gave him made him sick so I had to go to a sensitive kind. In my case I bought it after and slowly and it was the best thing because the iron based formula make him sick and had to change to lactose free.
