How does a baby die from a cord around the neck?
Janie C asked:
I saw a question about someone losing their baby at 8 months due to a cord around the neck. Several others posted that they knew someone it had happened to as well.
My question is how can a cord around the neck kill a baby in utero? The baby is not breathing – so what happens to kill the baby – anyone with a link please post this as well – it would be helpful.

They are right. It cuts off the flow of blood, thereby losing the lifeline between mom and baby.
Some dead beat mother, or father, is sitting around the house watching t.v. while their 8 month old is crying its head off because it’s hungry, no ones has paid attention to it in a month, it’s hurt, or any of the other various reasons babies cry. Finally mom, or dad, has enough and strangles the child to death with the cord, or in the old days, drowned them in a 5 gallon buckle. Then they simply call the police and act like they are in a panic so that everyone thinks it’s an accident.
At that point no one believes them but they put a safety warning on it anyway, just so they can charge the next person that trys it with child endangerment.
what would happen if there was a cord around ur neck very very tightly??????????????????????????? hmmmmmm??!!
It not only cuts off the blood flow to the brain, but cuts off the food supply as well. I lost a baby this way at 16 weeks. Once the baby dies, either you start to miscarry naturally, or you would have to get a D&C to remove the baby.
Well it just cuts off the blood flow to the brain. Then you have to have an operation to take the dead babies body out. Very, very, very sad.
Cuts off the blood flow to the brain which does contain oxygen by the way.
