Oh, I feel your pain! Our son would only sleep for about 20 minutes at a time, then be up for three or four hours. I was SO exhausted. He didn’t sleep through the night til he was almost a year.
Some babies are just like this – ours was colicky, but the sleep thing wasn’t about that, because once it was dealt with, he was still doing it.
The doctor just told us that our son just didn’t want to miss anything!!!

my bub is 12 weeks and only sleeps 1/2- 45 min most of the time aswell.
My bub is pretty much in exact same night pattern as yours except he goes down at 6pm and wakes for a 10pm feed.
Although much to my loving he has just started (fingers crossed it continues) to drop the 2am feed so its now 10 till about 5-6am

Hi check out my question 12 week old baby sleeping through night is it bad? lot of answers on that. just keep him awake with playtime, nappy off time, tummy time singing when he naps keep it short and keep him full always offer breast. i express 5 oz for last bottle between 9.30-10. He prefers sleeping on belly too, that keeps him asleep longer than back he sleeps with us and wakes with us now around 5-6am this works for us, He was waking up at 3.30 on dot every night for while but i just turned him orb held his hand without feed and he soon slept right through since 8 weeks

When my son was a baby he would only sleep for about 45 minutes at a time aswell – I tried everything to see if I could extend the sleep but he just wasn’t tired – although until he was about 6 months old he still needed to go down for a nap every hour though. When he started getting more active and crawling and dropped down to 2 sleeps he started having one 45 minute nap and one1 1/2 hour one. The only thing I would say that at 11 weeks if you aren’t already try putting him down awake in his cot – not feeding him to sleep or rocking him or anything. As far as night time sleeping goes if you haven’t already establish a routine for him i.e. bath, feed, then put down sleepy but awake, and when waking at night for a feed – wait a couple of minutes before going in to see if he will resettle – if not go in and feed but try not to make too much eye contact – or anything that he may interpret as fun!! – no matter how cute he may look! All the best!

yes its normal is he falling asleep while you are feeding him if he is then he is using it as a pacifier and not feeding properly he should feed for about 20 mins to get enough of a full tummy
